The Doodler is a Malaysian youth-led art magazine founded in 2024 by Aditya Navin. The publication showcases visual art, writing, interviews, and cultural commentary by and for young artists, particularly from Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The magazine was conceived as a response to the lack of accessible platforms for emerging teen creators to engage in artistic critique and self-expression.

History
The Doodler was founded by Malaysian student and editor Aditya Navin at the age of 13. Initially created as an independent project with a small team of student contributors, the first issue was released digitally in January 2025. It featured essays, visual art, and short features exploring artistic identity, self-doubt, and creative process.

Following the positive reception of the first issue, a second issue was released in June 2025 under the theme "you are an artist." This edition included expanded editorial content, artist interviews, and commentary on activist art, abstraction, and Malaysian representation in the creative scene. The magazine also released a curated Spotify playlist accompanying the issue. The issue was widely positively received, earning features in The Star and Eksentrika. “We wanted to create a space where young people could express themselves freely,” shared Navin. “There are so many talented voices around us, and The Doodler is a way to bring those voices to light.”
